Due to the restrictions put on many businesses during Covid-19, there are steps you may need to take to avoid additional charges if your customers have altered hours or have closed due to Covid-19 restrictions. We’re working hard to help you meet your customers’ needs during this difficult time. That being said, there are a few things you should be aware of if you have any orders already placed and awaiting shipment.
If you have an order in-house at WCI right now:
- Unless advised otherwise, WCI will produce/ship the product as stated on your purchase order and will not be responsible for any additional costs incurred such as storage fees, return fees, restocking fees, etc., due to circumstances within or beyond your control. All additional fees will be invoiced to you at cost. Should you need to change any stock or custom shipping dates or instructions please contact Customer Service immediately.
- Trucking companies warn that if orders ship to entities that are closed (schools, restaurants, large conference expos, companies, etc) at this time, you should be holding off on shipping to these facilities until you are notified that they are open again and can receive deliveries.
- Storage charges will be charged by trucking companies due to potential backup of the terminals.
- Return freight will not be free astray, but rather what the respective rate would be from the new Origin to Destination. That does not mean it will be the same rate as original shipment. Different lanes have different base rates.
- Should trucking companies assess storage or return fees, you will be charged on a separate invoice.
Please reach out to your customers immediately to ensure they are open to receive deliveries. If they are closed, please take the following steps:
- Contact us immediately to put your order on hold if possible. Order will be subject to new lead times once taken off hold.
- Have the order shipped to your warehouse or an alternate address for storage until your customer can receive shipments.
- Unfortunately, we are unable to store orders long-term. We’re happy to work with you while you are coordinating shipment changes but product will not be held indefinitely.
